Promising Partnerships: Supporting College Student Success Through Collaboration Between Basic Needs and Financial Aid Offices

This webinar will present the findings from a report from John Burton Advocates for Youth highlighting opportunities for enhanced collaboration and coordination across financial aid and basic needs offices to better support college students in accessing the resources they need to succeed. In addition to reviewing report recommendations, the webinar will feature representatives from LA Pierce College and California State University Stanislaus who will share innovative approaches to collaboration taking place at their campuses.

Central American Youth Leadership Conference

Homies Unidos Inc. is presenting its fourth annual Central American Youth Leadership Conference, “Yo Contrlo mi Futuro.” Since 2015 over 2500 youth have taken advantage of the services provided at these conferences. The 2023 event will provide an estimate 450 Central American Youth an opportunity to connect with service providers, attend educational workshops, and enjoy Central American arts culture. The goal is to bring awareness to the importance of health, violence prevention, and development for newly arrived Central American and other immigrant youth; and ensure that immigrant youth have a successful, safe, and well-supported integration into Los Angeles communities.
