SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
The Center for Nonprofit Management (Los Angeles) helps nonprofit organizations more effectively fulfill their missions by offering services such as job listings (Nonprofit Directions), workshops and seminars, consulting, publications such as the Compensation and Benefit Survey, a nonprofit resource library, and an e-newsletter.

The Long Beach Nonprofit Partnership (Long Beach/South Bay) provides training, promotes collaborative opportunities, enhances resource development and aids in capacity-building for nonprofit organizations. They offer information, referral and consulting services, networking opportunities, a philanthropy and research library, and year-round educational seminars and workshops.

CALIFORNIA
California Association of Nonprofits (CAN), a statewide membership organization of over 1,700 nonprofits, is dedicated to protecting, strengthening, and promoting nonprofit organizations in California. Services include:
     
CAN Insurance Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CAN, which provides insurance products for CAN Members.
     
Educational Programs including an annual statewide conference, special-topic seminars, local conferences in underserved areas, the CAN Manager’s Helpline, the CAN Alert newsletter, and the CAN Bookstore.
     
Cost Discounts and other special opportunities with vendors for products and services regularly used by nonprofits.
     
Quality Reporting Project, a national collaboration to improve the quality and reduce the costs of nonprofit financial reporting including Form 990 reporting.
     
California Ethical Values and Principles Project, which helps nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, elected decision-makers, and the general public understand and be guided by the principles and values that shape how nonprofits operate.
     
Energy Equity Project to help nonprofits reduce energy usage by 20 percent and lobby government and foundations to financially support efficiencies and renewables.
     
Public Policy Advocacy, directed by an independent advisory body, the CAN Policy Council. CAN seeks to influence and shape public policies that affect the broad nonprofit sector.

BoardSource, formerly the National Center for Nonprofit Boards, enables organizations to fulfill their missions by helping build strong and effective nonprofit boards. BoardSource provides:
     
Resources to nonprofit leaders through workshops, training, and an extensive Web-based database.
     
Governance consultants who work directly with nonprofit leaders to design solutions to meet an organization's needs.
     
Materials on nonprofit governance, including a large selection of booklets, books, videotapes, and audiotapes.
     
A biennial conference that brings together board members and chief executives of nonprofit organizations from around the world.
