Letters of Inquiry MUST include all of the following information on a maximum of 3 pages (not including copy of 501(c)(3) IRS letter):

      1. A description of the organization's mission, objectives, and services.
      2. A description of the "5 Ws" of the project/program: Why is there a need for your program? What services do you provide? Who delivers these services and Who receives these services (include age range of participants)? Where is the program held and Where is the geographic region you are serving? When (how often) do you provide these services?
      3. The total organization budget, the total project or program budget, and the amount requested from Dwight Stuart Youth Fund. These budgets do not need to be itemized.
      4. How you heard about the Dwight Stuart Youth Fund.
      5. A copy of the organization's 501(c)(3) IRS letter.

Letters of Inquiry are accepted year round and are reviewed in the order they are received. Specific application procedures for an LOI requesting capacity-building funding are presented in the Capacity Building Initiative website section.

We will mail an acknowledgement of receipt immediately upon receiving your Letter of Inquiry. If you do not receive an acknowledgement soon after you have mailed your letter, please call the office. The Dwight Stuart Youth Fund is not responsible for lost mail.

If we determine from your Letter of Inquiry that your request is consistent with our funding priorities and interests, you may be asked to participate in a conference call with Fund staff to further refine your request and clarify questions we may have about your letter.

During the conference call, if we decide that your organization's objectives and activities clearly match our criteria, you will be asked to submit a full proposal and application materials will be mailed to you at that time. Unsolicited full proposals are not accepted.
