WENDY CHANG, Program Director

Wendy Chang has 20 years of nonprofit and foundation experience, primarily in grantmaking, program development, public policy, technical assistance, and training.   Prior to her current position at the Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation, where she directs the Foundation’s grantmaking activities, she was the Executive Management Academy Director at the Whitecap Foundation; the Director of Training and Advancement for the Public Corporation for the Arts; and Special Projects/Membership Director for the California Association of Nonprofits and the Director of Consulting Services for CompassPoint Nonprofit Services, Silicon Valley (formerly Nonprofit Development Center). 

Wendy is an active volunteer, donor, and long-time board member of several organizations. Currently, she serves as chair of Asian American Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy, Los Angeles, board member & grantmaking chair of the Liberty Hill Foundation, membership chair of the Los Angeles Public/Private Funders Partnership for Infants and Toddlers, chair of the Financial Literacy Circle of the Women’s Leadership Circles, member of the Program Development Advisory Committee of Southern California Grantmakers, and advisory member of the Trustee Initiative: Effectiveness through Diversity.  She is also a founding member of three giving circles.

Wendy is the recipient of the Leadership Long Beach Jim Ackerman Alumnus of the Year Award, Distinguished Leadership Award from the California Association of Leadership Programs, Distinguished Leadership Award from the Community Leadership Association, Community Pride Award from Children’s Nature Institute, and Business Associate of the Year from the American Women’s Business Assoc.  She is a graduate of University of California at Santa Cruz with majors in Business Economics and Computer Science.



ERIN SUNDELL, Administrative & Grants Manager

Erin joined the Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation in 2001, when the Foundation first commenced grantmaking. In her position, Erin oversees the administration and daily operations of the Foundation, as well as managing its grants process and policies. 

Erin graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 1997 with a BA in Sociology and minors in Political Science and Psychology. Her community work has included volunteer service for homeless children, animal welfare organizations, and Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital. Currently, Erin serves on the board of a local animal rescue . 

 

Maintaining a lifelong interest in sports, Erin participates in both recreational and city-based athletic leagues.
